11/21/2023 0 Comments Yankee clipper motor innwhen i told them, the man who managed didnt even smell the drawer, he sent the poor maid to smell it while he stood there being a jerk about it. it smelled like bug spray and the drawers smelled like moldy basement. when i walked into my room i was so disgusted. as i was checking in, the lady was speaking ill of my brother even though i told her many times she was talking about my brother. I would stay again, but I would love to experience the main house next time.Been staying in wildwood for over 25 years. I am 70 years old and this was very much appreciated. When I was ready to leave, Mike sent someone to carry my suitcase down the narrow stairs. When I had trouble with the television remote, Mike came and fixed it. I was greeted in a friendly way by Peter (I think). I went and sat on the lawn and in the gazebo at sundown and felt so lucky to be there. I thought the breakfast was excellent and the servers, especially Claire, were all lovely. I felt like I had gone home to my grandma's house. The small bathroom was expected since it is often part of an old Victorian house. I was put in the Victorian house across the street. I had booked online with but he had me cancel that and he redid my dates to help me. First of all, due to rental car issues, Mike was helpful in changing my dates for me. An American older teacher living in Europe now, I enjoy solo trips ad love staying in inns. I was traveling solo for four weeks on a road trip in New England. The absolute only "negative" was that the pool lounge chairs, though lovely, were uncomfortable to sit on, but just bring a cushion along and all is well! It is rare to find a B&B with a pool at all anyway! Two thumbs WAY UP for Yankee Clipper Inn! Our little tour was complete with historical explanation of some of the rooms features and most beautiful antique furniture! Everything was very clean, and done so that present Ma. I had a very tasty omelet made just to order and my sister had what she referred to as "really delicious" pancakes! The dining area looks out on the sea and the staff was terrific! We would like to extend a "special thanks" to Mike for his hard working service and though he was so obviously busy he took the time to give my sister and I the added extra treat of touring the two main suites in the Main house. We also had a nice front porch to sit out on that overlooked the gorgeous sea view! We had a great breakfast each morning. Wonderful sense of humor and he immediately made us feel relaxed and at home! We were very glad to find a spot in Rockport at all, seeing as we booked very late into the Summer, so we didn't go with expectations too high! BUT, this place and this staff exceeded our expectations and then some! Our accommodation was in the Bulfinch house and though we would've preferred something with different sleeping arrangement, we were, as I wrote, so glad to find such a great place at all! Bulfinch house is across the street from the main Inn, but it is "period decorated" and though not as beautifully ornate as the main house, it was lovely and clean. We were greeted in the most friendly of ways, though we could've chosen contactless check in, it was very nice to find that Steve, the Inn's main Chef, happened to be around at the time we checked in. The first thing you are in awe of as soon as you arrive is the gorgeous view, beautifully landscaped grounds and pool! My sister and I were on a 2 night getaway.
